♦ Artist name: Jathy
♦ Real name: Patricia
♦ Favourite colour: I love all colours in the right context.
♦ Games you play: Aion, Skyrim, Sims 3, and sometimes (read: very rarely) Forsaken World. Former Shaiya player.
♦ Active forums: Shaiya, Aion, Daevas and The G-spot (all gaming forums).
♦ How did you become interested in making signatures? From seeing all the amazing and inspiring signatures on the Shaiya forums.
♦ Why do you like to make signatures? Because it has the same effect on me as reading/writing/gaming do: it takes me to a place in my mind where I don't have to think about dull or unpleasant everyday stuff. It makes me happy and relaxed.
♦ Which program do you use? GIMP.
♦ Why do you like it? It's the only one I've tried. I can't afford ones that aren't free. So far I haven't found anything to complain about.
♦ How long have you been making signatures? Well, I started messing around with some tutorials sometime at the end of last year, but I let it go again pretty quickly because of some personal stuff. Now I started making signatures for real about a week ago. So that's not very long.
♦ What are five suggestions you would give to any other artist?
1: Does it make you happy? Don't stop doing it.
2: It's good to have your own style, but it never hurts to keep exploring and try something new.
3: Remember that your art is about expressing who you are.
4: Try pushing your limits.
5: When it comes to your creativity: never grow up! You imagination is your greatest weapon. Nourish it.
♦ How about five suggestions for a new artist?
1: There's nothing wrong with imitating, as long as it is for the sake of practicing.
2: Share, share, share.
3: Always be open for constructive critisism, but never let it bring you down or shackle you.
4: Learning to work with deadlines can be good, but don't try to force it if you don't feel it.
5: Aim for your own style.
♦ Do you offer tutorials or give lessons?
I don't think I'm good enough for that yet, but I'm always willing to help in any way I can.
♦ Obsessions: Books, colours, butterflies, fairies, dragons, shoes, clothes, jewellery, and nail polish.
♦ Random facts: I'm 22. I have a cat whose name is Han Solo. I also have 5 mice. I'm soon to live with my boyfriend, with whom I've been together with for 7 months today. Han Solo is going to have his Princess Leia sometime in the near future.
